More sewing

I never intended for this blog to be a sewing blog, but it seems to be turning into a sew-n-show. I guess I figure the rest of my life is too boring to even type out! LOL!!

Here's a few things I've done in the last week or so. Lots of baby sewing, and another Farbenmix Feliz for McKenna.

2nd OB appt today

Another boringly normal appt--and I guess I should be glad they are that way huh?! Everything looked great, uterus is measuring on track, baby's heartbeat sounds great! My next appt is in one month, and I will have my ultrasound then! So yay for that!! I can't wait to see my little baby for the first time!! And lets hope Dustin and I have enough restraint to stick w/ our not finding out the gender plan!!

I should probably post a belly pic on here soon--hopefully this weekend I'll get Dustin to take a pic! I really should invest in a floor length mirror, so I could take my own, but utnil now, Dustin works!

My first Farbenmix!!

I have wanted this pattern since I first laid eyes on it! I finally got up the courage, and ordered it. (I was worried it was beyond my sewing capabilities) It's the Farbenmix Feliz. It's the perfect party dress, and will be perfect for Kenna's upcoming 2nd birthday! I have had the pattern sitting her for weeks, I've had the fabric picked out and ready to go, but have been to afraid to actually put two and two together. But today, I rose above my fear. Yes, it did take me all day--in between managing three kids, getting breakfast, and lunch, and running Braydon to and from school. But it is done!! And I love it!! This won't be her b-day dress, but this was my practice run--I think it will be perfect for spring/summer, and the parties that come w/ that time of year!

I have to admit, if I would have followed the Farbenmix instructions, I probably never would have finished. Instead I followed this AWESOME sew-a-long. And I didn't have to look at the pattern instructions at all!! I did have to seam rip a few times, but that was totally my error--I start rushing, and screw up. So, onto some pics!! Sorry they are a little crappy--it's been gloomy and rainy all day, and it's starting to get dark, but I couldn't resist snapping some pics! I cannot wait until winter is over, and I can start taking outdoor pics again--the indoor lights just do not do the fabric justic!

Ok, so quick stats: Fabric is Robert Kaufman from Hancocks, size is 86, w/o seam allowances.
